Description
In looking at the image, Backyard Drilling it is easy to see why the name fits. The stories of those who have been here and kept large pieces of land are numerous. As the city and the oil industry keep moving in closer. Where there were once open fields and pasture, the wide open spaces have grown few and far between. The spaces now, so small and filled to the brim with new businesses, homes, and more drilling. There is an ever-growing need for every service and luxury that bigger cities have. That has come right on the heels of the massive move to the once quiet town. West Texas, is home to many small towns that are meeting the same demands and the same growth.
Part of the charm of the place is that even today the old way of life clings on to the ideas of the past. They continue to carry the old mindset, treat people like you want them to treat you. Also doing the best you can with what you have still rings true. Another wonderful quality about the old ways is to greet your neighbor. To give them a friendly wave, to say hello, to shake hands, and to smile. If you have moved to West Texas, the friendliest place on earth. You might realize what you don’t see in the picture is the smiling native saying “Howdy, Welcome neighbor”. I guess there are a few simple rules to know if you are going to be in my Backyard Drilling.
