This image, titled Brilliance II, is simply breathtaking. The colors of the rig and sky so perfectly mimic each other. Because they came together, at just at the right moment. As the dust settles the lights pierce through like sparkling diamonds and the whole place gives off an unearthly glow. As the sun sets on todays hard work, the sky makes peace with a day well done. The lights around the rig begin to come on in preparation for the busy night. In fact, that may be exactly why they mimic each other so magically. It’s as if they were meant to be together just to show the true beauty of how things come together so perfectly in the oilfield.
The oilfield never actually has an end to the day. There is only the end of the job. Therefore things run in such perfect balance. The only real sense of time and accomplishment are the numbers running inside and the continuous clock of day and night running in cycles around a place. This place that runs only from beginning to end in a relentless rotation. The never ending series of events that are only interrupted by a few brief moments of Brilliance II, day to day.
