Description
The detail in Dreamin’ is what really sets it apart. There are days in West Texas where the clouds in the sky are so fluffy white. The colors bouncing around them are such vibrant hues of blue that it’s almost unrealistic to look at. This image captures it against the grays and tans of the rig, pipe, and ground below. The oil rig and blue sky have an almost castle-like quality. If the oilfield had a fairytale book, this would be the cover.
The vastness of the sky and the wide open spaces only interrupted by the Rig, or Pump Jack is the inspiration. Finally, we now have photographic evidence of what many who work in the oil field says draws them back. The beauty and stunning variations of blue mixed with clouds as tall as skyscrapers at times give the eye and the imagination so much to take in. The traces of white only amplify the abundant shades of blue. The clouds perfectly frame them, to be looked at, studied, and gazed upon. The oil rig and blue sky just perfectly set together. As a result, it is easy to see how one could get caught up in a moment of Day, Dreamin’. Maybe a little cloud watching in between the never-ending call to work.
