Description
Emily Dickinson said “Hope is a thing with feathers”, this image portrays Hope as something bigger and far more difficult to tame. As a tree and water at sunset light up this image. First, this image portrays it as something so bright, even the clouds cannot hold it back. Then, as the sun rises behind the clouds, it spills around the single tree in the form of light. Finally, in the shape of a circle, hope seems unending. Sunlight gives us hope for another day, for new life, and for new beginnings.
In the background, the grass and trees provide a foundation for all that rises above. Lily pads float on the water ready to soak up the love from the sun. The color of the sunlight burns bright in red, orange, and yellow. We can also find these colors in a fire. Fire is thought to represent energy, passion, and power. The amazing colors can inspire the viewer of this photograph to feel energy, passion, and power. They may also find themselves with a feeling of belief and inspiration.
The single tree and water at sunset demonstrate strength and the ability to stand tall. Hope, viewed as the circle of sunlight, surrounds the single tree standing tall. One might relate to the tree and feel their own strength grow as they stand tall. In this image, we are able to see that hope surrounds us all. Emily Dickinson had a beautiful thought in her poem, but I much prefer to see Hope as a light that shines high above giving strength to our dreams and passions every day.
